FACTS, FAITH AND FEELING

Have you ever wondered why your faith sometimes seems to be so strong and sometimes so weak?
Have you ever wondered how you could increase your faith? Have you ever wondered why your feelings are so changeable? Have you ever wondered what you could do to control your feelings?

These are questions we all ask We will learn one of the most important principles in Christian life: the principle that speaks of:
The facts! Faith! The feelings!

These words represent three aspects of Christian life that are vital to us. It is important to understand and even more important that we in the right order and stay well.

God's order is:

Facts, Faith, and Feelings.

Events (all works and words of God in the Bible) are the foundation; then faith rests on facts; and feelings come to the end.

For most people, feelings are the factor that governs their lives. If they feel something, they think it is something genuine. If you do not feel anything, they think it is not. But this is not consistent with God's order.

Others try to put faith first. They think that if they have "faith" enough, they can make anything is done. But this is not God's order. God wants us to have faith, but our faith must rest in His Word; otherwise no value.

God's order is always the same: (1) Acts, (2) Fe, and (3) feelings. We will study each of these three aspects of the Christian life so that we can better understand how they affect our lives.

WHAT IS A FACT?

A fact is something that is true. For example, two plus two equals four. This is a mathematical fact. It has always been true and always will be. It is true in this country, and it is true anywhere in the world. The fact that you do not believe it really. It is true though no one in the world believe.

You need to have this well engraved in the mind: the facts are always true. Maybe you do not create a fact, but it's still true. Can you not feel that a fact is true, but it's still true.

For example, we know that Jesus Christ died for our sins and rose again to be our living Savior. We know this is true because God's Word says. A person can believe it or not, but it's still true. God's acts are always the truth.

WHAT IS THE FAITH?

The word "faith" is used 239 times in the Bible! This shows the importance assigned by God to faith.

What is the faith? Faith is to accept what God says through His Word and act on that basis.

God says so! I think so! And that's it!

The Bible makes it clear that all God's blessings come to us by faith. Without faith we can not please God. The Bible says,  Without faith it is impossible to please God; because it is necessary that you approach God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him (Hebrews 11: 6).
Despite the importance of faith, he can not stand alone. Something has to be said, and that "something" must be true. That's why our faith should always be stated in the Word of God. Jesus said:

Your word is truth (John 17:17).

Now let 's look at the Word of God and learn more about the faith.
• Faith has to do with the invisible world

Faith deals with things that are real but invisible. We can not see God, but by faith we know that God is real. We can not see the sky, but by faith we know that there is a real place called "Heaven". The Bible says,

is therefore faith is the substance of things hoped for , the conviction of things not seen (Hebrews 11: 1).

This means that faith is the way they "tried" the reality of things unseen. We can not see things in the spiritual world, but we know they are real by faith in God's Word.
• Faith makes real spiritual truths in our experience

we have to understand this: our faith does not make God's facts are true. And they are, whether we believe it or not.

So what does our faith? Our faith in the truths revealed in the Word of God is what makes them real in our experience.

The Bible contains many wonderful promises of God. But not become ours until appropriated by faith in God's Word.

As we said before, it is a great fact that Jesus Christ died for our sins. God promises eternal life to all who believe in Him. But Christ will not become your Savior until you put your faith in Him.

When you believe that Jesus Christ died for your sins and accept Him as your Savior, you experience salvation. Faith in Christ does God's salvation real in your experience. Then you can say, "I am saved!"
• Faith believes God's Word

Faith believes God in spite of unfavorable circumstances. Perhaps one of the best examples of this is Abraham. When Abraham and his wife, Sarah, were very old, God promised that they would have a son, and Abraham believed God.
But it took fifteen, and God's promise had not been fulfilled. Humanly speaking, to Abraham and Sarah could not have a child. But Abraham continued to believe God. In due time, God gave Abraham the son he had promised. The Bible says Abraham

did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, fully convinced that God had power to do what he had promised (Romans 4: 20- twenty-one).

Faith and obedience go together. True faith always results in obedience. Believers are obedient! The Bible says:

By faith Abraham, being called, obeyed to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance; and he went out not knowing where he was going (Hebrews 11: 8).

Saying you believe something and yet not put into practice, that is not faith. True faith believes God and obey God. Faith that does not obey God is not a living faith. The Bible says: . Faith without works is dead (James 2:20).
HOW TO INCREASE YOUR FAITH
You may say: "I would have more faith. What I can do to increase it ? "

Faith grows through constant and careful attention to the statements of God in His Word.

A great man of God, DL Moody, prayed a lot asking God to give him more faith. But his faith seemed to increase. Then one day he read this verse:

So faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God (Romans 10:17).

Moody instantly understood: faith comes from the Word of God. He began studying the Word of God. Studied carefully every day to see exactly what was what God said in His Word. He believed and applied in life. The result was that their faith grew and continued to grow.

WHAT ARE FEELINGS?

Feelings are emotions, such as joy, sadness, happiness and pain. We must understand that feelings are totally different from the facts, because the facts never change, while our feelings are always changing. Health status affects our feelings. Our relationship with others affects feelings. Up to climate change can affect our feelings.

You might ask why we use in the drawings an American football to represent the feelings. It is because our feelings are so changeable. There is a saying: " You do not know how it will bounce the ball." So are the feelings. You do not know how they will "bounce" your feelings.

A day can be full of joy. At the next day, for no apparent reason, you can be sad and depressed. The most important thing to remember regarding feelings is this: the feelings are very changeable. For this reason we must ensure that our faith never rest on our feelings.

An evangelical lady was using the Bible to explain to a young lady the way of salvation. The girl was confused. He said: "I believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, but thought I should expect some feeling, or some flash lights or something." Mrs. showed him some verses from the Word of God and said , "Here's all the light you need." She put her faith in the Word of God, he accepted Christ and found peace and joy he sought.

No matter how much can change our feelings, it does not affect the facts. The facts are always true and are true despite our feelings.

For example, suppose you got a letter from a respectable law firm in which you announce that a wealthy relative has left you a large sum of money. Suddenly you're rich! You say, "But I do not feel that money is truly mine." Maybe not, but nevertheless it belongs. I have been legacy and it's yours despite your feelings.

Many sincere people seek salvation, but are not because they are seeking some feeling. In the Christian life feelings they do have their place, but do not come first. Instead they come after the fact and faith. The Bible says, "Whoever believes in the Son of God hath the witness in himself." Observe the order: first, we believe; and then we have the testimony of the Spirit in our hearts.

CONTROLLING YOUR FEELINGS
There are moments in the life of every Christian I feel discouraged and depressed. Even the great Apostle Paul went through times like this In 2 Corinthians 1: 8, Paul wrote:

For brothers, we do not want you to be ignorant of our trouble which came to us in Asia; that we were burdened beyond our strength, so that we despaired even of life itself .

What should you do when you're discouraged? You must go to the Word of God. Read and meditate on such wonderful passages such as: Psalm 23, Romans 8 and Philippians 4. As you paying attention to what God says in His Word, you will find new faith and courage reborn in your heart. The Bible says:

Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit (Romans 15:13).

A living the Christian life, we should not be overly concerned about our feelings. We are not saved by our feelings and not live the Christian life by our feelings. We live by faith in the Word of God. If we have good feelings, thank God; but we go forward believing and obeying God. Faith in the realities of the Word of God is the way to a happy life full of blessings.

Principle of Acts, Faith and Feelings

We discovered one of the great principles of Christian life: the principle of the facts, faith and feelings. The principle is this: Always put your faith in God's facts and let your feelings continue as they wish.

God's Promise: this is my reality.

I believe it : this is my faith.

God fulfills it and I enjoy it : this is my feeling.

God's order is always: (1) Facts (2) Fe and (3) feelings. The facts form the foundation; the faith rests on facts; feelings come later.

NOVEDADES

Si aún no has tenido esa experiencia, búscala.
