Rooted Love

When I think of all the wonders of God’s magnificent creation, I am especially awed by the giant sequoia tree. These amazing behemoths of the forest can grow to around 300 feet tall with a diameter that exceeds 20 feet. They can live over 3,000 years and are even fire resistant. In fact, forest fires pop the sequoia cones open, distributing their seeds on the forest floor that has been fertilized by the ashes. Perhaps the most amazing fact is that these trees can grow in just 3 feet of soil and withstand high winds. Their strength lies in the fact that their roots intertwine with other sequoias, providing mutual strength and shared resources.

God’s plan for us is like that. Our ability to stand tall in spite of the buffeting winds of life is directly related to the love and support we receive from God and one another. And then, as the writer of Hebrews says, we are to “do good and to share” (13:16). Think of how tough it would be to withstand adversity if someone were not sharing the roots of their strength with us.

There is great power in the entwining gifts of words of encouragement, prayers of intercession, weeping together, holding each other, and sometimes just sitting with one another sharing the presence of our love.Lord, thank You for entwining Your strength
into my life. Lead me today to someone
who needs the love of shared strength from
resources that You have given to me.

Let the roots of God’s love in your life be entwined with others who need your support.

Busca a Dios y revístete de poder

Mas buscad primeramente el reino de Dios y su justicia, y todas estas cosas os serán añadidas. (Mateo 6:33) Muchas veces pasamos por momentos difíciles y nos sentimos débiles, sin fuerzas para continuar. El mundo que nos rodea puede estar lleno de desafíos, pero la Biblia nos enseña que cuando buscamos a Dios, encontramos fuerza, paz y dirección para nuestras vidas. Buscar a Dios significa ponerlo a él primero, confiar en él y buscar su presencia todos los días. Cuando oramos, leemos la Biblia y adoramos a Dios, nos conectamos con él y recibimos su poder. Este poder nos fortalece para afrontar cualquier dificultad y nos da valentía para luchar las batallas diarias. La cobertura del poder de Dios ocurre cuando permitimos que el Espíritu Santo actúe en nuestras vidas. Él nos da sabiduría, nos guía y nos ayuda a vivir según la voluntad de Dios. ¡Estás rodeado!

Tu protección me envuelve por completo; me cubres con la palma de tu mano. (Salmo 139:5) Porque tú, Señor, bendices a los justos; cual escudo los rodeas con tu buena voluntad. (Salmo 5:12) Es común escuchar esa frase en las películas de acción durante los enfrentamientos y persecuciones policíacas. David también vivió varias situaciones peligrosas, sitiado y teniendo que luchar o huir de enemigos mortales. Pero, contrario a lo que vemos en esos escenarios de amenaza, peligro y tensión, la Biblia nos habla de un cerco diferente: Dios rodea con bondad y protección a los que confían. En estos salmos David declara que Dios es el escudo que rodea a sus justos. A pesar de todo el riesgo y la aflicción que puedan enfrentar, la presencia del Señor mantiene el corazón en paz y seguridad. El Amar a Dios sobre toda las cosas, JESÚS Y PEDRO (Juan 21:15-19.)

Jn 21:15 Cuando hubieron comido, Jesús dijo a Simón Pedro: Simón, hijo de Jonás, ¿me amas más que éstos? Le respondió: Sí, Señor; tú sabes que te amo. El le dijo: Apacienta mis corderos.
