Rooted Love

When I think of all the wonders of God’s magnificent creation, I am especially awed by the giant sequoia tree. These amazing behemoths of the forest can grow to around 300 feet tall with a diameter that exceeds 20 feet. They can live over 3,000 years and are even fire resistant. In fact, forest fires pop the sequoia cones open, distributing their seeds on the forest floor that has been fertilized by the ashes. Perhaps the most amazing fact is that these trees can grow in just 3 feet of soil and withstand high winds. Their strength lies in the fact that their roots intertwine with other sequoias, providing mutual strength and shared resources.

God’s plan for us is like that. Our ability to stand tall in spite of the buffeting winds of life is directly related to the love and support we receive from God and one another. And then, as the writer of Hebrews says, we are to “do good and to share” (13:16). Think of how tough it would be to withstand adversity if someone were not sharing the roots of their strength with us.

There is great power in the entwining gifts of words of encouragement, prayers of intercession, weeping together, holding each other, and sometimes just sitting with one another sharing the presence of our love.Lord, thank You for entwining Your strength
into my life. Lead me today to someone
who needs the love of shared strength from
resources that You have given to me.

Let the roots of God’s love in your life be entwined with others who need your support.

¿Que significa Esfuerzate y se valiente, no temas ni desmayes?

Respuesta: Muchas veces a lo largo de nuestras vidas, cuando estamos mas cerca de la bendición que Dios tiene para nosotros, somos victimas del desanimo y olvidamos que Dios prometió no desampararnos nunca. A propósito, las únicas personas que se desaniman son aquellas que luchan por algo grande. Porque Jehová tu Dios estará contigo en dondequiera que vayas” Josué 1:7 Dios ha prometido estar contigo todos los dias de tu vida. En el libro de Josue, cuando el pueblo de Israel se preparaba para la conquista de Canaan, y entrar en la tierra prometida, Dios le promete a Josuè que nunca lo desamparará y requiere de él de dos virtudes indispensables, el esfuerzo y la valentía. Dios no ha cambiado hoy y requiere que sus hijos nos mantengamos en pie ...

"¿Qué dice la Biblia acerca del diezmo?" Diezmar / ofrendar debe ser un gozo, una bendición. Tristemente, casi nunca es ese el caso en la iglesia de hoy. Diezmar es un asunto con el que muchos cristianos luchan dia a dia. En muchas iglesias locales ponen demasiado énfasis en diezmar. Al mismo tiempo, muchos cristianos rehúsan someterse a la exhortación bíblica tocante a ofrendar al Señor. Diezmar es un concepto del Antiguo Testamento. El diezmo era un requisito de la ley en la cual todos los Israelitas ofrendaban al tabernáculo / templo el 10% de todo lo que ganaban y hacían crecer ( Levítico 27:30; Números 18:26; Deuteronomio 14:23; 2 Crónicas 31:5 ). El Nuevo Testamento en ninguna parte ordena, o aún recomienda que los cristianos se sometan a un sistema legalista de diezmar. La inutilidad de resistir a Dios

¿Por qué es tan difícil resistirse al chocolate y tan fácil resistirse a Dios? Imagina esta situación: llevas unos días siguiendo una dieta y por casualidad descubres una caja llena de bombones de chocolate en la despensa. Tentador, ¿no? Solo saber que los bombones están ahí puede cambiar la forma en que afrontas tu alimentación. En cierto modo, este descubrimiento empieza a jugar en tu contra. Llega la noche y no puedes resistir más. Te comes un chocolate. «Es solo uno, antes de la dieta me comía varios», razonas. ¡Rompiste tu dieta! Ahora, piensa en otra situación: unos hermanos te invitan a participar en un evento de evangelización durante la noche. Al pensar en la hora, te das cuenta de que será un gran esfuerzo ir después del trabajo. Entonces los hermanos te recuerdan que el día siguiente es día de fiesta, y tú recuerdas que necesitas cenar temprano.
