The Lord Jesus Christ , proclaimed publicly and said, "I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish, neither shall anyone snatch them out of my hand. My Father which gave them me is greater than all and no one can snatch from the hand of my Father "( John 10:28-29 ). Both Jesus and the Father, we have held firmly in his hands.
Who could take away from the Father and the Son?
Ephesians 4:30 tells us that believers are "sealed unto the day of redemption." If believers do not have eternal security, the seal would not be really for the day of redemption, but only for the day of sin, apostasy, or unbelief.
John 3:15-16 tells us that everyone who believes in Jesus Christ "hath everlasting life. " If a person is promised eternal life, but then go away, it never really was "eternal." If eternal security is not true, the promises of eternal life in the Bible are wrong.
The strongest argument for eternal security is found in Romans 8:38-39, "For I am convinced that neither death nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature can separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord . " Reason given for or against an opinion: The eternal security is based on love of God toward those He has redeemed. Our eternal security has been purchased by Christ, promised by the Father, and sealed by the Holy Spirit.
